The quality of processed finished decorative stone can be distinguished from the following four aspects:
One observation, that is, observing the surface structure of stone with the naked eye. Generally speaking, stones with a uniform fine structure have a delicate texture and are considered excellent products of stone; Coarse grained and unevenly structured stones have poor appearance, uneven mechanical properties, and slightly lower quality. In addition, due to the influence of geological processes, some fine veins and micro cracks are often generated in natural stone, and the stone is most prone to rupture along these parts, which should be carefully removed. As for the lack of edges and corners, it also affects aesthetics, so special attention should be paid when choosing. Two quantities refer to the size specifications of the stone material. To avoid affecting the splicing or causing deformation of the patterns, patterns, and lines after splicing, which may affect the decorative effect.
Listen three times, that is, listen to the sound of the stone hitting. Generally speaking, high-quality, dense and uniform stone with no micro cracks inside has a crisp and pleasant knocking sound; On the contrary, if there are micro cracks or fine veins inside the stone, or if the contact between particles becomes loose due to weathering, the knocking sound will be rough and hoarse.
Four tests, which use simple testing methods to inspect the quality of stone. Usually, a small droplet of ink is dropped on the back of the stone. If the ink quickly disperses and leaches out, it indicates that the particles inside the stone are loose or there are micro cracks, indicating poor quality of the stone; On the contrary, it indicates that the stone is dense and of good texture.
In the selection of finished boards, due to the natural nature of the stone raw materials, it is impossible for the texture to be exactly the same, and there are also differences in the level of craftsmanship during mining and processing. Most stones are graded. Granite stone does not have colored stripes, most only have colored spots, and some are pure colors. The finer the mineral particles, the better.
